Isn't This My Fight?

As this thought that our family was most likely biologically complete spun in my mind, I desperately ignored it. It felt like admitti...

Another Wagner Baby: 35 Weeks

  • How far along: 35 weeks!
  • Gender: Baby boy!
  • Weight gain: - 1 lb. this week, overall weight gain is +28 lbs.
  • Maternity clothes: We've been spending lots of time at the splash pad/park this week so I've been wearing my maternity swimsuit a lot and my favorite pair of maternity shorts!
  • Stretch marks: Well, its happening. It's like a road map is appearing on my tummy! I'm starting to get more marks on the front though, with Daphne's pregnancy I only got marks on the side.
  • Belly Button in or out: Flat and in.
  • Sleep: I've been sleeping just okay this week, I'm pretty uncomfortable and having to use the bathroom more often. I've been woken up by a few cramps/contractions a couple times this week but they seem to go away after I use the bathroom. I feel like I run out of breath just trying to roll over these days! My husband is not too thrilled with the fact that I seem to steal more and more pillows every night to try to prop myself into a comfortable position.
  • Best moment this week: Our little family of three has been spending a lot of time at the splash pad/park this week! It has been so great to let Daphne burn some of her seemingly never-ending energy and get a little bit of sunshine!
But I would HAVE to say that the BEST moment by FAR this week was that one of my best friend's delivered her first little baby this past weekend! She had a wonderful labor and delivery and her baby boy is just perfect. We loved meeting him and are so excited to watch him grow up!
  • Worst moment this week: I've felt like I've had a relatively good week but I have had moments of indigestion, constipation, cramps and just Levi being really really low that have made me super uncomfortable. I'm feeling anxious about having another birth experience but also really ready to not be a big ol' pregnant lady for awhile and get to hold my sweet boy.
  • Miss anything: Sleeping on my stomach!
  • Movement: Lots of it! There have been a few movements that feel like Levi is somehow hitting my pelvic bone, or rather round-house kicking it. It is super painful!
  • Symptoms: Third trimester symptoms can be a little TMI, so read with caution. Round ligament pain, gas, contractions, mild constipation, lower/upper back pain, excessive mucus, frequent urination.
  • Cravings: I've stopped to pick myself up a Twix bar more than once this week!
  • Queasy or sick: I've had a couple bouts of sour stomach this week, but nothing a little digize essential oil can't fix!
  • Looking forward to: Well I'm not looking forward to my husband being out of town for a couple days this week, but my sister-in-law is planning to spend those nights with Daphne and I so I AM looking forward to an all-girls slumber party!

Another Wagner Baby: 34 Weeks

  • How far along: 34 weeks!
  • Gender: Baby boy!
  • Weight gain: +1lb. this week, overall weight gain is +29 lbs.
  • Maternity clothes: No new maternity clothes, I've been wearing my side panel maternity jeans and sweat pants a lot. Some of my maternity tops are actually feeling a little too small now...uh oh.
  • Stretch marks: I have one on each of my sides from my pregnancy with Daphne and it looks like a few more developing near my belly button on either side. I've been using Moringa Body Butter on my tummy, but I haven't been too consistent about it.
  • Belly Button in or out: Very flat but still in.
  • Sleep: I've been sleeping pretty well this week. We've been trying to go to bed at a good time each night and I've been waking up feeling relatively rested. I have had a good bit of round ligament pain during the night, which only makes it harder to roll over when I need to.
  • Best moment this week: Our Bible Fellowship class gave us a little diaper shower during our class this past week, it was so thoughtful and sweet! We have felt so loved by our class and we were blessed with a good variety of diaper sizes and we're pretty much set on wipes! Another highlight of this week has been our trips to the splash pad! Daphne is at this age where she actually plays in the water and Carson just loves going with her, we've been several times this week!
  • Worst moment this week: Well that would have to be last Wednesday evening. I was at the bookstore buying a gift for our friend before his ordination ceremony that evening and after I got Daphne loaded into the van, I called Carson and suddenly started experiencing an intense, stabbing pain in my left side. I decided to wait in the parking lot for a little bit to see if they would go away before driving to the ceremony. They became more and more intense and were accompanied by painful contractions. I found myself unable to speak, doing my Lamaze breathing and Levi seemed to be moving around a lot and with every movement came even more pain. I decided that I needed to just try to get to the church where my husband was preparing to play for the ordination ceremony. The pain and contractions continued to intensify as I made the 20 minute drive to church, when I pulled in I could barely talk to my husband and was basically crying and yelling through the pain. He decided that we should go ahead and go to the ER, so he came around to the driver's side and helped me walk to the passenger seat. I think something about finally moving positions and drinking some water made a huge difference. In the 3 minutes that it takes to get to the hospital, the contractions had stopped and the pain was already going away. Within 10 minutes the pain was completely gone and I was feeling much better. We decided to go ahead and go to the ordination ceremony, it was so crazy how quickly the pain came on and how quickly it left! I'm guessing that it was either Levi completely moved positions and it was really painful OR it was gas. Pregnancy is cray.
  • Miss anything: I think I just miss not having a big ol' belly in the way. I can hardly lay Daphne down in her crib or give her a bath!
  • Movement: Oh yeah! At this point, it feels like little jabs of pointy elbows and knees! Not super comfortable, but again, I'm thankful for the movement.
  • Symptoms: Third trimester symptoms can be a little TMI, so read with caution. Round ligament pain, gas, contractions, mild constipation, lower back pain, excessive mucus, frequent urination and a surge of "nesting".
  • Cravings: Magnum chocolate and caramel mini ice cream bars (OBSESSED)
  • Queasy or sick: I have been feeling good!
  • Looking forward to: My best friend hasn't had her baby yet, but she's entering week 41! I can't wait to hold that sweet baby! I'm also looking forward to holding Levi and watching Daphne be a big sister, I ordered these shirts for them awhile back and they finally came the other day!

Another Wagner Baby: 33 Weeks

  • How far along: 33 weeks!
  • Gender: We're having a baby boy - Levi Allen!
  • Weight gain: +1 lb. this week, overall weight gain is +28 lbs.
  • Maternity clothes: I've been wearing my favorite side panel maternity jeans from Target a lot (the full panel jeans that I have has become a little uncomfortable), maxi dresses/skirts and my favorite maternity tops.
  • Stretch marks: I'm getting two marks on either side of my belly button and I still have one on each side from my pregnancy with Daphne. Using my Moringa Body Butter and also using some coconut oil + frankincense.
  • Belly Button in or out: It's still in but it's very flat.
  • Sleep: This past week has been so crazy busy, my husband and I have both been getting home late from events and we've barely had enough time to have a conversation! I had a women's conference this week which put me home around 10-10:30 most of the week and Carson was preparing for a big worship night at our church most of the week as well, so we were both so exhausted whenever we came home! But we usually stayed up for a little bit and tried to share a little bit about our day and then passed out, only to wake up around 7:30 the next morning. Whew! With all of that, I found myself actually sleeping quite comfortably and through the night, but I was still exhausted most of the time because I was always on the go, which I'm typically not.
  • Best moment this week: It's really difficult for me to pick just one good moment for this week because it was so packed with goodness! One of my friends purchased a ticket for me to attend Covenant Church's Flourish women's conference this past week and it was absolutely incredible! it was so well-timed for me to be able to refocus myself on the main thing - Jesus - and my identity in Christ right before Levi comes. There were so many good moments from the conference but I would have to say the best moment for me would have to be the first night's sermon by Charlotte Gambill entitled "Doorways, Hallways and Gateways". Definitely a sermon I needed to hear and I'm still mulling over a lot of the comments from it and trying to apply them. A second "best moment" from this week would have to be our church's worship night on Saturday! We did a live recording for our upcoming album "Songs of the People" and it was an awesome night of worship! I am so proud of my husband for not only co-writing a few of the songs that we sang, but also doing some of the orchestrations, arrangements and playing for the worship night!
  • Worst moment this week: I was so exhausted for most of the week/weekend, in a good way, but still exhausted. I felt like even if I got a nap in, it still wasn't enough!
  • Miss anything: Feeling comfortable. I'm just so ready to be able to sit up on my own, roll over, sit or stand for an extended period of time and just not feel like a baby is going to fall out of me any second!
  • Movement: Levi moves a lot, I feel like his bum and legs are typically up in my rib/sides area and his head is banging against bottom. I'm thankful for the comfort of his consistent movements but they can be so painful because he is already so low!
  • Symptoms: Third trimester symptoms can be a little TMI, so read with caution. Gas, cramps, leg pain, exhaustion, contractions, constipation, excessive mucus, frequent urination, lower back/hip pain, indigestion and abdominal pain.
  • Cravings: Hummus with sugar snap peas, carrots or wheat thins, oatmeal, cereal and Magnum chocolate and caramel mini ice cream bars.
  • Queasy or sick: I have felt pretty good this week!
  • Looking forward to: My best friend is entering her 39th week of pregnancy with her son and I am so excited to meet her little baby/Levi's future bestie! :)

Another Wagner Baby: 32 Weeks

  • How far along: 32 weeks!
  • Gender: Boy!
  • Weight gain: +5 lbs. this week - overall weight gain is +27 lbs!
  • Maternity clothes: Loving my side panel maternity jeans and maxi dresses/skirts these days! It's really starting to warm up here in Texas, I always forget how insanely hot it gets here. And I'm sure I don't have to tell you that being in your third trimester during the Texas summer is really no piece of cake.
  • Stretch marks: I'm getting two marks in the front on the left and right side of my belly button! Still applying Moringa Body Butter like it'll help haha
  • Belly Button in or out: Flat and in.
  • Sleep: I've slept a little better this week. I've been able to get some good naps in during Daphne's afternoon naps. I've pretty much stolen all the pillows and sleep with two under my head and one between my knees. I still end up on my back throughout the night and it keeps waking me up because I guess that's really not comfortable for me or Levi. I have continued to have lower back and hip pain this week. Carson has been wonderful about giving me back/shoulder massages at night with magnesium oil or pan away oil which has been really helping to relax me and help with the pain.
  • Best moment this week: My sweet friends hosted a brunch this week to "sprinkle" Levi with some love (...and diapers!). My sister-in-law even came into town for it and they stayed with us! It was really a perfect morning spent chatting outside on a beautiful patio and getting excited about Levi's arrival! He truly is a loved little boy.
(Angie, Kayla, Meghan, me, Nikki and Josie - love these girls)

  • Worst moment this week: I had been looking forward to a pre-natal massage that I had booked for about two weeks. Unfortunately there was an emergency situation and my massage therapist had to cancel, even though I totally understood, I have to admit I was pretty bummed. Those pre-natal massages are the best thing ever and my body has really been needing it! It's been rescheduled for next week with a chiropractic adjustment right after and I absolutely cannot wait!
  • Miss anything: Being able to eat what I want. This week and last week especially I have been dealing with pretty bad acid reflux/heartburn/indigestion and even some sour stomach. I've started taking a probiotic juice in the mornings (Good Belly brand found at Kroger), drinking a glass of water with two drops of lemon oil and I've been drinking only half a cup of coffee in the mornings. I've also needed to keep digize with me at all times and that has really helped with the reflux and indigestion. Peppermint oil has also helped whenever I feel nauseous. But I cannot wait to be able to just get a big juicy burger from 5 Guys and not worry about feeling miserable afterwards!
  • Movement: Oh yeah! Lots of movement, usually first thing in the morning, after lunch and late at night. He is very very low so some of his movements feel more like pelvic pressure which is uncomfortable.
  • Symptoms: Third trimester symptoms can be a little TMI, so read with caution. Sour stomach, acid reflux, heartburn, gas, lack of appetite, cramps, contractions, diarrhea, frequent urination, lower back/hip pain, indigestion and abdominal pain. I've had little surges of energy this week so I've been taking advantage of them!
  • Cravings: Poppy seed muffins (specifically from Kroger), strawberries, oatmeal, raspberries and cantaloupe.
  • Queasy or sick: I really only had two episodes this week where I felt a little nauseous.
  • Looking forward to: My prenatal massage next week! Ahh!

Another Wagner Baby: 31 Weeks

  • How far along: 31 weeks!
  • Gender: Boy!
  • Weight gain: I've lost 1 lb. this week, putting my overall weight gain at +22 lbs.
  • Maternity clothes: I haven't been feeling well so I've been spending most of my days in my PJs, or sometimes even no pants at all. Probably won't be purchasing any new maternity clothes at this point. I do have my eyes on some new nursing tops and PJs now!
  • Stretch marks: I think I'm getting one on my left side and the two that I got from Daphne have started to turn a darker color. I honestly haven't even applied my belly lotion this week, its been all I can do to wash my face and stick a bobby pin in my hair!
  • Belly Button in or out: Flat and in.
  • Sleep: This has not been a very fun week for sleep. I have had really bad acid reflux and nausea and its made it really hard to sleep much less find a comfortable sleeping position. One night the heartburn got so bad that I tried to sleep completely propped up in bed. I've been consistently comfortable on our couch cushions, they give my belly the perfect amount of support. But after awhile even that position starts to hurt my hips. And go figure, whenever I do find a comfortable position and start to fall asleep, Levi decides to have a dance party!
  • Best moment this week: My Mom has been telling me that she probably won't be able to come before Levi is born for awhile now. She came pretty early before Daphne was born because I was already on bedrest and since my Mom delivered all of her babies early, we thought there was a good chance that Daphne might come early. She did not. So my sweet Momma stayed with us for 5+ weeks and we LOVED it. My Dad however was not a big fan of her being away for that long. Understandably so. They have finally decided that she will be able to come when I'm 39 weeks and I am SO FREAKING excited! She is not only the best cook in the entire world but she is also a breastfeeding pro (nursed my brother and I AND premie twins!), a clean freak and my best friend. Carson, Daphne and I are all so unbelievably excited that she's coming early to help us! Lord knows we'll need it!
  • Worst moment this week: It's not really a moment but since Friday morning I have not been feeling well at all. At first I was worried that it was some sort of pre-labor thing (since it felt similar to how I felt when they had to put me on bed rest with Daphne - except with more nausea). But now I think its a combination of a different pregnancy, third trimester and maybe a little bit of the stomach bug. I woke up Friday feeling pretty nauseous with very little appetite - which was really sad because we had an awesome date night planned with some friends of ours that night! I have been feeling pretty crappy ever since then.
  • Miss anything: I am at that point where I miss my pre-pregnancy body. Not because I want to wear my old clothes or feel less like a beached whale (well, maybe that last one) but because I want to be able to bend down to pick things up and snuggle with my husband and SLEEP ON MY STOMACH!
  • Movement: Levi's movements have been so strong! The other night my husband laid his hand on my side as we were falling asleep and he couldn't believe how strong Levi is! Even though his movements can be inconvenient and even painful - I'm so thankful for them, because it reminds me that he's okay and growing and that I've got a little baby boy in my tummy!
  • Symptoms: Third trimester symptoms can be a little TMI, so read with caution. Sour stomach, acid reflux, heartburn, gas, no appetite, cramps, contractions, diarrhea, frequent urination, lower back/hip pain.
  • Cravings: I haven't really had any cravings this week, maybe for more sleep? I was craving egg salad sandwiches for a hot minute - until I looked up some recipes for it and then...no. No way.
  • Queasy or sick: Sour stomach and nausea this week but haven't gotten sick yet.
  • Looking forward to: My close friends are hosting a little brunch for Levi this weekend AND my sister-in-law and brother-in-law are coming into town for it! I'm so excited to visit with family and spend some time celebrating my son with my girlfriends!
