25 Week Bump Update

How far along: 25 weeks! The time is flying by for me!Gender: Baby girl! Weight gain: I lost -.7 lbs this week, which I find hilarious because I had entirely too many homemade snicker-doodle cookies this weekend. Overall weight gain/loss is -1.7 lbs. Maternity clothes: Still loving my maternity skinny jeans and leggings, but I need to invest in a couple other maternity tops. A friend asked me if I'm going to buy a maternity bathing suit for this summer, and I've just decided that I'm not leaving the house this summer in Texas. I feel like I'll just walk outside and my water will break, it's so hot!Stretch marks: None yet!Belly button in or out: In. Sleep: My hubby was out of town and I was visiting his family this weekend, I never really sleep well when we're apart. 24 Week Bump Update

How far along: 24 weeks! Gender: We're having a girl, Daphne Anne!Weight gain: 2 lbs. gained this week. Overall weight gain/loss: -1 lb. Maternity clothes: I haven't purchased any more maternity clothes, but I feel like I might need to. My legs swelled up after standing for too long this past week and it made my favorite maternity skinny jeans a bit too small around the calves. I may want to move up a size, just to prepare for the swelling/weight gain...cuz that was uncomfortable.Stretch marks: None yet, I had my doctor check for a navel hernia at my last appointment because the skin around my belly button was so tight it was painful. No hernia, just stretching skin. So that's fun. Belly button in or out: In. Sleep: This has been the most uncomfortable week of sleep since my first trimester! I've been dealing with swollen legs and feet, difficulty breathing and difficulty digesting. It's made it difficult to get to sleep and stay asleep. Best moment this week: East…

Tried-and-True Beauty Products

Over the years, I have used many different beauty products. Like, MANY different products. 
Now that I'm older I evaluated my 'staple' products, that I have consistently used/gone back to, and I wanted to share them with you! These products are in no particular order, just my favs :)




I have been using Suave Keratin Dry Shampoo for almost 2 years now, and I have to say that without a doubt it is my only staple hair product. I can use any kind of shampoo, conditioner, hairspray and even sea salt spray...but do not take my dry shampoo.

I wash my hair every 2-3 days (ok sometimes 4-5) and this dry shampoo works better than any other dry shampoo brand I have used. It adds volume, blends well with my brunette hair...it's just aaamazing.




I have been using Bare Minerals foundation for almost 4 years. Clearly this compact has been through the ringer. After they released their new pressed powder compact, I fell even more in love. This is my go-to, all-time favorite foundation. …

23 Week Bump Update

How far along: 23 weeks! Gender: Girl! And after unpacking and organizing all of our baby clothes from our shower last week, I cannot wait to dress up Daphne in all her adorable dresses! So excited to be having a girl!Weight gain: I gained 3.2 lbs this week! Overall weight gain/loss is -3 lbs. If you're wondering how I keep track, I use this app. I blogged about how much I love this pregnancy app, it's my favorite!Maternity clothes: I've started wearing my maternity tops more often this week! I can still wear regular t-shirts, but I tend to look a bit like Juno in them. Stretch marks: None yet! The skin around my belly button has been super itchy, so I for-see stretch marks in my near future :) I have stepped it up a notch and started using Palmer's Cocoa Butter and coconut oil at night. Belly button in or out: In. Sleep: I've been going to bed earlier and earlier as my pregnancy progresses. The Mommy Complex

There are a million books about parenting. Seriously. For every technique of sleep-training, there is a counter technique that is so much better. For every opinion about birth, there are 20 other opinions to consider, and they all believe whole-heartedly that there's is better.

First of all, I want to say that I have never had a baby before. I've never raised a child, so I understand that it's pretty impossible for me to form any concrete opinions on things that I have yet to experience. 
But it always amazes me how many people out there, know how to have and raise my baby better than my husband and I do.
I would like to think, and in some instances I do believe, that some motherly advice comes from a genuine spirit of helpfulness. I greatly appreciate, and have even asked for advice, from some mothers whom I greatly respect and admire!

22 Week Bump Update + Baby Shower Pics

How far along: 22 weeks!Gender: Girl! Weight gain: I gained 3.6 lbs this week! Overall weight gain/loss is -6.2 lbs. Maternity clothes: Absolutely. My bump has gotten to the point where regular camis (which I usually wear with everything) are getting to be too short. I still love my maternity jeans and leggings and have started wearing more maternity tops. These are my favorites, I have both patterns.Stretch marks: None yet! Belly button in or out: In. But oh my word, it is about to disappear, it's so shallow!Sleep: I've slept like a dream this week! We have been on-the-go every day so whenever I slide into bed, I'm out like a light! I've also been using peace & calming essential oil on my shoulders and the bottoms of my feet at night, it really helps to relax me. Best moment this week: Definitely the baby shower that my Mom and her friends threw for us!
