17 Weeks Bump Update + Fav Pregnancy Book

How far along: 17 weeks! Gender: Our ultrasound tech gave us a good guess at our last appointment, but we're waiting to make an official announcement until our anatomy scan. The baby was all balled up like a little pretzel, so hopefully we'll get a better "look" in a couple weeks. Weight gain: I've gained .6 lbs.! Woo-hoo! Doc said I've got about 20 more to gain from now until the due date. Bring on the Blue Bell.Maternity clothes: Still wearing my Old Navy maternity jeans, and regular pre-pregnancy tops. Although I have purchased a few super cute maternity tops in the past few weeks. And am tempted to wear them all the time because they're so soft!! Don't judge.Stretch marks: None yet. Still slathering lotion all over! I use the Body Shop Moringa body butter, and found out last week that it's great for elasticity! And it smells HEAVENLY.Belly button in or out: In.Sleep: This week has been kinda weird, I have woken up pretty nauseous in the middle…

15 Weeks + Bump Update

How far along: 15 weeks! Gender: We don't know yet, our doctor said that the technician could give us her guess at our 17 week appointment, but we don't officially find out until our anatomy scan at 20 weeks. Weight gain: Well, I've lost another pound. I just don't understand it! I'm trying to eat often and well, but I guess so is the baby! hahaMaternity clothes: I've started exclusively wearing the Old Navy maternity jeans. These are my favorite everyday jeans and these are my favorite "fancy" jeans (which basically just means, I wear them with heels). Stretch marks: None yet, but I've been experiencing a bit of cramping in my abdominal area. Some of my pregnant/mommy friends have told me that that could be because of the ligaments stretching. Uh oh. Belly button in or out: In.Sleep: I've actually been getting a good night's rest this week! Still sleeping with a pillow between my knees (and wondering if the pregnancy pillow is worth the i…

Favorite Pregnancy + Fertility Apps

When my husband and I first decided to start trying to get pregnant, a friend of mine suggested tracking my basal body temperature. After purchasing a basal body thermometer, I found these two apps to help me keep track of my temperature and ovulation. Whether you're trying to get pregnant, avoid pregnancy or just trying to know your body better, I would definitely recommend them!

The Kindara app is really great, definitely the sleeker looking of the two. But just as informative and resourceful! I didn't like the calendar aspect of this app as much.

Fertility Friend would have to be my all-time favorite fertility app! It was so easy to enter the temp and any notes I wanted to make. I especially liked the calendar on this app, because with one quick glance I could look at all my information. And when you're trying to get'll be glancing a lot.

Tracking my BBT really helped me in so many ways. Trying to get pregnant can be difficult and if it takes you longe…

Blog Changes + 14 Weeks + Pregnancy Tracking

I've been having a bit of an identity crisis with my blog in the past year or so. I've taken to it to announce big things that are happening in our life, but I've been really perplexed about what direction to take the every day posts.

So for the time being, I've decided to take the lifestyle blogger approach. Discussing beauty, food, baby stuff, family, The Lord and anything else that presents itself as an interesting topic. Stay tuned for potential branding and blog name changes, I hope this little space on the internet proves to be helpful and interesting for you (and me!). I'm also excited to start pregnancy tracking here on my blog, here is my first bump update!

How far along: 14 weeks! Gender: I mean, I have a pretty strong feeling that I know what we're having, but we should find out in a month or so. Weight gain: HAH! I don't even know how to answer this question. I lost 18 lbs. by week 12 and have gained 2 lbs. since then. Maternity clothes: I defini…

Coming August 2014

During Thanksgiving of 2013, while home in Cincinnati, my husband and I found out that we were pregnant again! I was completely terrified. I remember sitting down and just holding my husband and crying, not tears of joy, but tears of fear. I was so afraid that this pregnancy would end in loss, the way it had before.

He was so strong for me, and excited for us! We decided to tell my family, my Mom's reaction was really what helped me get excited about being pregnant again. Her and my Dad are so ready to be grandparents and it was so special for me to get to tell them our news in person.

During our visit home, I was supposed to sing the song "Not for a Moment" by Meredith Andrews at my home church. We found out the day before that we were pregnant. Singing that song was so difficult, because I was singing the words "Not for a moment will You forsake me//After all, You are constant//After all You are only good//After all You are sovereign." I feel like that was s…
