The Best Cookies EVER.

I introduced you to my two besties from Canada last week in my H54F post, they came over last weekend and made some amazing desserts for a party we were going to (I must confess, I wasn't very helpful). Baking isn't really my thing.

My friend Andrea can make a mean cookie. I didn't realize that her recipe came from the back of a Hershey Milk Chocolate Chip bag! The trick is, it's not just any bag of Hershey's, they're only sold in Canada. Go figure. So her Mom sends her bags every once in awhile and they are seriously the best cookies I've ever had. And I'm not even really a cookie girl.

So if you want to learn how to make these easy and absolutely delicious cookies, keep reading!
Step One: Melt 2/3 cup of butter.
Step Two: 2 cups of brown sugar.
Step 3: Combine butter + sugar + 2 eggs.
Step 4: Add 2 tbsp. of hot water.
Step 5: Mix that jank.
Step 6: Combine 2 2/3 cup of flour + 1 tsp. baking powder + 1 tsp. baking soda + 1/4 tsp. salt in bowl.

High Five for Friday!

1. My amazing friend, Kayla, made this table for me in like two days! Whenever my husband sees discarded furniture he always brings it to Kayla because she repurposes furniture to sell on the side, he had no idea that I asked her to keep an eye for a good table to make a farmhouse style table. He brought this nasty white and light wood table to her and before we knew it, she had produced this beautiful masterpiece!!

2. These are two of my best friends in the whole world. They grew up in Canada together and we met in college. The brunette (Andrea) and her hubby just moved to Texas and the blonde (Josie) just popped in for a visit this past weekend! This picture was taken during a cookie making excursion, keep your eye out for that blog post this week!

3. Ok, so if you read my makeup favorites post, you know that under eye circles are one of my biggest foes. I finally cracked and bought the hard stuff. Mac's mineralize concealer is AMAZING. I absolutely love it!

February Birchbox: Review!

This month's Birchbox has actually been pretty great for me, so I'm excited to share what I thought about the products I received!

First of all, this is my all-time favorite chocolate so....I was already loving this box.
Ok ya'll, this headband from Twistband is incredible. Praise the Lord they put this in there because I have been using the same nasty tie-dye eleastic headband for years. Ew. I love this headband because most elastic headbands slide right off my head, but this one does not move. Also, I went on their website and discovered they have like a bajillion colors and styles, so...I might be addicted.
The second product was this leave-in conditioner and detangle spray by Beauty Protector. My hair is already really slick so I didn't need to use this for detangle purposes, and I didn't really notice a whole lot of difference in the moisture of my hair from the conditioner...but, it does smell really nice :)

Makeup Favs!

In no way do I claim to be some kind of makeup artist, but I do love trying new products and I love learning new techniques to apply my make up better! This post is simply a list of my favorites and "go-to's" in the order in which I would put them on.

If you want a more in-depth description or review about a certain product, just let me know!
Primers Smashbox Dark Spot Correcting Primer
I am in LOVE with Tarte's Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer! Honestly, I don't really know if I buy into the whole "primer" thing, but I use this stuff before I apply my make up and I am just obsessed with it, great product.
Foundations Make Up Forever HD Foundation is not something that I typically wear. I use this foundation when I'm going to be on stage, don't really have any complaints. But it hasn't changed my life.
I'm a BareMinerals girl. I'ma be real honest with you. I don't know if it's necessarily the way it looks on me or just the …

Name Dropping

When looking for a good photographer for all those special moments in life a lot of people claim to "know a guy...", they claim their "guy" is the best.
Well, mine is actually the best.
Jake Ford Photography has taken my engagements, my bridals, done my wedding, and my family pictures. It's safe to say that I'm their biggest fan :) It also helps that they are good friends of mine and not only are they trustworthy, hilarious and ethical but they are also excellent photographers.  They were rated one of The Knot's Best of Weddings 2013 picks! I'm so proud! Click here to see their profile/reviews on The Knot!
Jake Ford Photography is actually a husband and wife team, Jake is the main photography and Katie's eye for creativity and ability to make you feel comfortable (and also take amazing pictures herself) are essential to their team!
Here are a few shots that they've taken for us over the years!

High Five for Friday!

1. The first highlight of my week was that I replaced my old "Wet to Straight" straightener (that really didn't do much for me anyway), for this amazing GVC straightener that my friend introduced me to! Sally's was having a sale, so it was perfect timing :)

2. Second highlight is ongoing from last week's H54F post, I am LOVING this new Daniel study. Although it's hard to make time for the homework, especially this week at work, I have already been blessed by just one week of hard-core Daniel study.
3. About this week at work....I am the high school administrative assistant for my church's student ministry, and this weekend is our biggest event of the year! It's called Freedom: Undeniable (it's essentially the largest DNow weekend you will ever see)!
We have about 900 kids registered and ready for the weekend to start tonight. Although it has probably been one of the most exhausting weeks of my life, I am so pumped to see what God is going to do.…

February Desktop Calendar Favs!

I'm a big fan of a great looking desktop, and I especially love the calendar desktops. I know, I know, it's already like a week into February (you'll have to excuse me, work has me going cray-cray these days).

But I wanted to share with you some of my favorite iphone and desktop calendars for February! Enjoy!

This one is so cute! Love the calm color scheme, and I always love a good peacock cameo. You can find it here!
This next one is probably my favorite right now, it's currently the lock-screen on my iphone! I'm a coffee lover and I love this font! You can find it here!
I love how simple this calendar is, but how busy and fun the surrounding pattern is! You can find it here
This one reminds me of those cute doily valentines I used to get in elementary school! Love the pleasant pink color, you can find this calendar here
Hope you enjoyed this little blurb of a post! And I hope one of these pretty calendars makes it's way to your desktop or phone to help re…

1. As much as I've loved my Paula Dean pots and pans, I was so excited to start upgrading (piece-by-piece) to Caphalon. I replaced my omlette pan and the first omlette that I made was literally perfect, these are the best non-stick pans EVER.

2. Our women's Bible study started up this week, we're doing Beth Moore's "Daniel" study and I have a feeling it's going to rock my world. I'm doing the study with my friend from Simply Beautiful!

3. I love it when I get to hear my husband play the piano. I look forward to the day when we have our own piano and he can play at home whenever he wants! Here's a little glimpse into how talented my man is.

4. I love my job.

5. If you don't already know, I am slightly obsessed with my dog. This week he was so desperate for my attention while I was getting ready that I just set him on top of the bathroom counter. He looks ridiculous. I love him.
